An elevator spends far more time waiting than moving.

Cabin lighting, ventilation, displays and drive electronics keep drawing power through every quiet hour of the night.

Replacing the elevator is a capital project. Newer controllers idle efficiently, but the elevators already installed mostly cannot, and nothing retrofits the behaviour without reaching into the certified system that keeps passengers safe.

Observe

Reads the signals the elevator already produces: floor, direction, doors, service state. It listens. It does not intervene.

Forecast

Learns this building’s own rhythm, on the device. No cameras, no identities, no cloud.

Stand down

Puts idle subsystems into progressively deeper standby, then wakes them ahead of the next passenger, so the lift is ready before they are.

Shield

A deterministic safety shield filters every action to a pre-vetted set. The same code runs in simulation and on the installed device.

One edge module. One passive interface board. Removed, the elevator is exactly as it was.

Built for a machine that must never fail.

An elevator is a certified life-safety system. That constraint came first, and it decided the architecture rather than the other way around.

Never the safety chain. Not the brakes, the doors, or motion control. Speed, acceleration, braking and energy recovery stay entirely under certified control.
Human override always wins. There is no mode in which that is not true.
ElevAI requests. The certified controller decides.
Fully reversible. Non-invasive, and removable without leaving the elevator degraded.
On the device, not in a cloud. Operation does not depend on a network link.
Anonymous by design. Where a sensor is used to see how busy a floor is, it counts people and nothing more. Images stay on the device, are never stored, and are never turned into a record of anyone. ElevAI models a building’s rhythm, never a person’s routine.

The elevators of 2040 are already installed.

Most of the elevators that will run in Gulf buildings in 2040 are already in their shafts, commissioned before idle-energy behaviour was something anyone specified.

Regulation has already named the behaviour. Abu Dhabi’s Estidama Pearl Rating System asks that lifts:

For a building yet to be built, the right controller answers that. For the buildings that already exist, there has been no equivalent answer.

Measured, or not claimed.

The system is built and tested end to end: forecasting, decision policy, safety shield, on-device services, and the measurement pipeline.

What it has not yet done is run in an occupied building. That is the next step, and it is structured deliberately: an independent supply-side meter, a baseline period before anything changes, then verification under IPMVP Option B and ASHRAE Guideline 14.

We publish no savings figure we have not measured.
